The UKFast team turned out on mass to support Charlie Hodgson in his bid to become Sale Sharks Player of the Season for the third consecutive year at a Gala Dinner, held at Edgeley Park on Wednesday 12th May.

The end of season dinner, celebrated some of the young talent developing through the ranks at the premiership rugby club. In particular, James Gaskell was the big winner of the night. While Charlie Hodgson retained the coveted Player of the Season trophy, it was teenager Gaskell who picked up the most silverware for his stunning season with the team.

Having been named as the ‘Breakthrough Player of the Season, Gaskell collected the award for Best Try of the Season. The award was voted for by the assembled crowd of 300 and presented to him by Paul Harris, marketing director at UKFast. In winning Try of the Season, he beat off the challenge from international stars Mark Cueto and Dwayne Peel amongst others.

Finally, the award that all players look to win, Players’ Player of the Season, topped off an incredibly night for the youngster, who turns 20 this week. Charlie Hodgson’s own success comes following a call up to the England Squad for their forthcoming summer tour.
